Upcoming Movies of Tollywood (July – 2021):
Telugu film industry is one of India’s three largest film industries, producing the highest-grossing films like Bahubali and Saaho. Tollywood movies are gaining popularity around the world with their great content and exceptional passion. Our tremendous directors in the industry succeeded in winning hearts along with breaking records. Let’s look at the top ten most awaiting Telugu movies.

1. PUSHPA

Icon Star Allu Arjun and National crush Rashmika Mandanna’s mass masala movie ‘Pushpa’ topped Most Anticipated Indian Movies and Shows on IMDB. Our Andhra Michael Jackson has been getting ready with enormous content in collaboration with director Sukumar. The trailer was released on the 7th of April 2021, titled ‘Introducing Pushpa Raj.’ The story revolves around the red sandal smuggling in Seshachalam forest, Andhra Pradesh. Sukumar personally went to the location, scouting the forest as part of movie shooting. Makers of the movies announced that ‘Pushpa’ would be released in two parts: the first part on the 13th of August 2021 and the other in 2022.

2. ACHARYA

Megastar Chiranjeevi is considered the master of the Tollywood industry, as he was, is, and will be the inspiration for many actors for years. He is now clearing ways for his 152nd film, Acharya, duoing with his son Ram Charan to blast the silver screen with an action film. Chiru had fortuitously released the title of the film in an event. He also confirmed that the movie was relevant to Naxals when he sat beside Rana Dhaggubati. There were many rumors about Acharya’s story. But the makers quash all the allegations saying, ‘the story is originally written and conceptualized by Koratala Siva. Initially, the film was announced to release on the 13th of May 2021 but postponed due to the pandemic.

3. RADHE SHYAM

Get ready to see our darling Prabhas in the 1970s romantic drama movie Radhe Shyam directed by Radha Krishna Kumar. The film reported to releasing on the 30th of July 2021 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. It ranked #3 on the list of Most Anticipated Indian Movies and Shows on IMDB. Prabhas has four movies in his hand, including Adipurush, Salaar, Radhe Shyam, and Mahanati directorial, starring Deepika Padukone and Amitab Bachchan. Each of these films goes in a new track, and Radhe Shyam takes the place of an eternal love story film in Prabhas’s career. But we need to hang our fire till the 30th of July to see our Bahubali as a romantic lover.

4. RRR

Rajamouli is one of the topmost directors in Tollywood and India, with the biggest blockbuster movie Bahubali. He is now sculpting a periodic action drama film with young tiger NTR and Mega Power Star Ram Charan. The storyline is about two legendary revolutionaries in 1920 and their journey in the fight for the country. The two big heroes are playing freedom fighter roles in India’s independence journey. Bollywood’s burgeoning actress Alia Bhatt and Holywood beauty Olivia Morris are playing the female leads. The spluttering of the horse and the thump of Enfield in the first look posters gave us goosebumps. RRR is undoubtedly going to be another blockbuster in Rajamouli’s career.

5. MAJOR

We can’t forget the herculean characters of Adivi Sesh in each of his movies. Sesh is very theoretical at choosing his characters and scripts. His next project, ‘Major,’ has a very special reason to watch. The story was based on the life of the 2008 Mumbai attacks martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an officer in the Special Action Group of NSG. ‘Major’ is dedicated to the bravery shown by Unnikrishnan in the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks. Goodachari director Sashi Kiran Tikka takes the directorial responsibilities and production by Superstar Mahesh Babu. So get ready to hear the bang of gunshots pride with immense patriotism.

6. LIGER 

The Arjun Reddy sensational hero Vijay Devarakonda and spectacular director Puri Jagannath are working together for the first time. The movie is titled ‘Liger’ with the tagline ‘SAALA CROSSBREED.’ Puri raised VD fans’ expectations with a first look poster. Vijay Devarakonda worked out hard in the gym for this movie as he is seen as a kickboxer. Ananya Pandey debuts in Tollywood with the film. Liger is jointly produced by Karan Johar, Charmme Kaur, Apoorva Mehta, Hiroo Yash Johar, and Puri Jagannath. It is simultaneously shooting in Telugu and Hindi. Recently the makers of the movie have rejected a 200cr OTT deal not to miss the theater experience. It is releasing on the 9th of September 2021.

7. TUCK JAGADEESH

Natural Star Nani always chooses scripts of different variants. From a boy-next-door to a star hero, Nani’s growth is all in front of us. He was raised as a natural actor because simplicity exists in his body. Hat-trick hero Nani is paving the way for another hat-trick with his three upcoming movies. The three movies, ‘Shyam Singha Roy’, ‘Tuck Jagadeesh’, and ‘Ante Sundaraniki,’ were directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Siva Nirvana, and Vivek Athreya, respectively. The directors of these movies have already bagged industry hits in their debuts. All three films are scheduled to release in 2021 only. So, it is obvious for Nani to celebrate one more hat-trick in his cine career. 

8. PAAGAL

A visionary director and a fan-favorite actor, Vishwak Sen takes U-Turn as a lover boy by proposing to hundreds of girls with ‘Paagal. The film is on its way, waiting to be released in theatres to let audiences enjoy the pure rom-com movie brewed with mother sentiment and fresh music. Vishwak Sen plays the character of a passionate lover who loves multiple girls sincerely. A total of3 heroines are acting in the film including, the talented Nivetha Pethuraju. Vishwak Sen earned many fans with back-to-back hits HIT, Falaknuma Das, and Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi. He also strengthens his position in the Telugu industry as a director, dialogue writer, and producer.

9. SARKAR VARI PAATA 

Mahesh Babu is an all-time entertainer with family-based stories, social impact films, and experimental movies like Naani, 1: Nenokkadine. Each of his films has something to say to the audience by connecting to every individual. Sarkar Vari Paata is believed to be none less than his early movies. It has been produced by three giant production companies- Mythri Movie Makers, 14 Reels Plus, and Mahesh Babu’s production GMB Entertainment. The director Parasuram, aced with Geeta Govindam’s success, stated it as a “dream come true” moment. Keerthi Suresh, Vennala Kishore, and Subbaraju were roped onto the sets. But the movie shooting was reportedly kept on hold.

10. LOVE STORY

Sekhar Kammula’s romantic drama film, ‘Love Story’ picturing lover boy Naga Chaitanya and gorgeous Sai Pallavi, is set to hit the theatres. It was set to release on the 16th of April 2021 but later postponed due to Covid circumstances. There are whispers in the film industry that this musical love drama will be releasing on the 25th of August 2021. Four songs have been released till now, making the jukebox a big hit. A particular song, ‘Saranga Dariya’ became a sensation by hitting over 250 million views on YouTube. So, movie lovers are eagerly waiting to witness the fresh love story.
